  • Inference and Deduction
  • Language Devices

This show has been loosely based on the new AQA paper 1 spec, but it has been successfully performed in schools studying WJEC and OCR (Edexcel currently test these skills through CA). This show is a great way to relieve the pressure of the crucial English GCSE and raise attainment at the same time.
Everyone can have a good day, but everyone can have an off day too. Here are some top tips to make sure you perform at your best:

Top Tips to Pass.

  • The most important tip of all is to make sure your English teacher has booked the English GCSE Show to visit your school. This can make your revision much more fun!
  • Get a good night's rest before you take the exam. It's important to be fresh and at your best.
  • Make sure you have a good breakfast.
  • Read the questions and underline key words. Make sure you understand what you're supposed to do.
  • Go through reading texts with a highlighter - don't overdo it!
  • Make notes as you go through the texts.
  • Write down any key information (mnemonics, AFOREST, etc).
  • Look at how many marks each question is worth and plan your time accordingly. Don't waste an hour on a question that's only worth four marks.
  • Plan your longer written responses.
