It's always difficult to tell who reads your blog and what they find interesting. I thought I'd share my journey about my transition to Facebook Live.
You already know about the current situation and businesses having to cancel bookings? Well that's me. I'm extremely lucky that my wife is a Head, so we're not going to starve, but at my age, the outdated 'the man should be the bread winner' is always at the back of your mind. I know it might sound ridiculous to some, but I can't help it - I think it's probably an age thing.
Having gotten over my masculine insecurities, I decided that I could actually do something positive and try and offer a service to home-schoolers. The Punctuation Show would visit your living room! Or any room for that matter, hence forth the transition to Facebook live. At least there wouldn't be the all too common 400 mile round trip (which I actually quite enjoy, but don't tell anyone).
Would people want to watch?
I asked the question and it seemed that yes they would. The post asking the question, had a reach of nearly 40,000, so I decided to give it a go.
The show came and had a couple of technical hitches, but was a resounding success. Whilst not quite viral, the page has grown wonderfully and given me a new sense of purpose during lockdown. Thanks to all of you who support me.
Have fun while we raise attainment through entertainment and learn through laughter.
