Achilles

A preposition is a word that suggests how one part of a clause relates to another part of a clause.

Remember, a clause is a group of words that contains a verb.

Prepositions are words like 'above', 'below', 'across', 'upon', 'beneath', 'of', 'against', 'into', 'within', 'on', 'like', and 'around'.

Prepositions normally precede nouns.

For example,

Under the bridge, the man waited for the goats.

The preposition sounds like it has been positioned before (pre positioned).

Remember, prepositions can also be more than one word (prepositional phrases).
