Raising attainment through entertainment and learning through laughter.

A suffix is a group of letters placed at the end of a word to alter the meaning or function in some way.

Different suffixes affect words in different ways.
A suffix will always be at the end.

For example,

child + less = childless

The addition of the suffix ‘less’ changes the noun to an adjective.

actor + ess = actress

The addition of the suffix ‘ess’ changes the gender of the word (note that we drop the letter 'o' in this example).

Remember, suffixes always go at the end of words.
